 Govt of India has appointed the 7th Central Pay Commission comprising Justice Shri Ashok Kumar Mathur as Chairman, Shri Vivek Rae as full time Member, Dr. Ratin Roy as part time Member and Smt. Meena Agarwal as Secretary on 28th Feb 2014.

 The Commission in Delhi and has been given 18 months from the date of its constitution to make the recommendations for the th 7th pay commission.To this end the Commission will set up its team of Officers, Advisers, Institutional Consultants and Experts and call for required information and documents from Ministries and Departments of Government of India and various Service associations.

Implementation of Sixth CPC Report

The Sixth Central Pay Commission was set up by the Union Government on 5th October, 2006 to revise salaries of the employees.

The Terms of Reference of the Sixth Central Pay Commission which made it incumbent on the Commission to recommend systemic changes for, (i) transforming the Central Government organizations into modern, professional and citizen friendly entities that are dedicated to the service of the people; and (ii) harmonizing functioning of the Central Government Organizations with the demands of the emerging global economic scenario.

Hence, the Commission not only evolved a proper pay package for the employees but also made recommendations to rationalize the governmental structure for providing better services to the common man.
